oregon gold maps                                              Oregon Gold And Gems

"It’s gold!" A cry that was responsible for the development of many desolate areas of Oregon that were later to become ghosts of the past. These maps have been selected from numerous sources. Some of the information from older maps and documents have been transferred to more recent maps of better quality. With the current price of gold increased many fold since the gold rush days of yesteryear, renewed interest is evident by the mining industry as well as the weekend prospector.             $12.95 Ea

Washington Gold and Gems Maps Washington Gold & Gems

Placer gold was discovered in Washington in the 1850s. However placer mining did not become particularly active until discoveries were made in the 1860s, on Peshastin Creek in Chelan County and on Swauk Creek in Kittitas County. During those early years and into the 1900’s, prospecting was general and it is possible that many streams were overlooked in the search for worthwhile placer locations. However, in several parts of the state interesting strikes were made.          $12.95 Ea

Idaho Gold Maps

Idaho Gold and Gems Maps

This collection is designed for the weekend prospector, rock hound and outdoor enthusiast. The numerous sources for this information are the National Archives, Washington, D.C., Special Report #1 1964 Mineral and Water Resources of Idaho which was compiled by the US Geological Survey in Cooperation with the Bureau of Mines, Idaho Department of Highways and the Idaho Department of Reclamations.

The primary source for this collection was Mines and Prospects map Series 1981, compiled by Gail S Hustedde, William B. Stroud, Victoria E. Mitchell and Earl H. Bennett. This was published by Idaho Bureau of Mines and Geology. The aid of these publications has greatly reduced the research task for this collection of information. The modern base map has been provided by the U.S. Department of Interior Geological Survey.              $12.95 Ea

Nevada Gold and Gems

Mining in Nevada has long been the most important industry for the state. Railroads were built to accommodate the early mines, mills and smelters. Every county has had mining activities. The early Indians as well as the Franciscan Fathers, prior to the advent of the Argonauts conducted mining. This activity was on a small scale, which soon changed with the arrival of the early pioneers and grew into the important history we know today. $12.95 Ea

California (No) Gold and Gems Maps california gold and gems

California Gold & Gems Maps, Northern Edition is a comprehensive collection to assist the rockhound in locating 40 gem sites. The source of information has been taken from numerous publications. All known types of rock and gem deposits could not be included because of the numerous types and locations would be overwhelming. Some of the reported gold and gold districts are included as far back as 1850.

The first report of gold in California was published in Spain in 1510. California was believed to be an island north of Mexico where gold and precious stones were abundant. Gold was actually mined in California as early as the late 18th century but the "rush" did not begin until the discovery at Shutters Mill in 1848. $12.95 Ea

GOLD MAPSColorado Gold and Gems Maps

The initial discovery of gold in Colorado was in 1859.  This occurred in Cherry Creek, near the confluence with the South Platte River.  Gold has been a major contributor to the economic growth of the state.  The estimated production of gold has exceeded forty two million ounces since this early discovery.  This map package includes a map of Public Surveys in the Colorado Territory in 1866 as well as other regional mineral maps.  We have broken the state up into four sections and indicated, in red,  the gold deposits for the past 100 years. The locations of the 65 gems listed are indicated by number.  This is a wonderful companion for the Colorado Ghost Towns Maps!   $12.95
